Getting Started

FAQ

How do I sign up?

Go to Ducklingdating.com and click on “Registration”. From there, fill in the form and submit it to Sue. If you’re already a paid-up Duckling, you’ll be confirmed within a day or so and get an email confirming that you’re good to log-in and create your dating profile. If you’re not a paid-up member, you’ll be contacted to ask that you pay your membership fee for the year. That fee gets you access to all the benefits of Ducklings membership, the Duckling Dropbox, Grown-Up Sex Ed, and access to the 4 & 5 duck events and access to the dating site.

Why is access to the site restricted?

The Dating site is an extension of the Ducklings community in that it is safe, positive, inclusive, and woman-run. Part of this is ensuring that people are who they say they are, and not tolerating bad behaviour. It is also to get rid of bad trollers from places that populate other dating sites. That’s why there is a registration process, and only Ducklings members can join.

How long until I can create my profile?

Creating new accounts for the dating site is a manual process and part of this is vetting applications to make sure the people on the site are paid-up Ducklings members. As such, it may take a day or so for your registration to be confirmed. Once you get the email confirming your registration, you’ll be able to log in and create your profile.

How do I create my profile?

When you first log in to the site, you’ll see the profile tool that will let you fill in who you are, what you’re about and what you’re looking for. The process is fun and incorporates the Ducklings’ colour code system for indicating the type of connection(s) you’re open to. Just fill out your information (some of it is mandatory for your profile), answer the other questions as you wish, and once you save it your profile will appear to other users on the site. And you can edit it any time.

One tip – the profile system doesn’t like smart device emojis – it won’t publish any part of your profile answers that include an emoji.

How do I get pictures on my profile?

At the bottom of the page where you create your profile, there is a place for uploading the photo that will be your main profile picture on the site. We have two basic rules for these pictures:
1. The picture must be of you (including your face)
2. No other people can appear in the picture unless the other person is your partner and you are on the site as a couple.

Additional pictures can be uploaded through the “media” button, and uploading them only seems to work if you then select “photos” and do the upload from that page.

NOTE – Picture uploading is a little clunky through a mobile device (tablet or phone) and for now, we recommend using a laptop or desktop computer instead.

Green, Yellow, Red, Black, White - What kind of duck am I?

Our Duckling colours can help tell you a bit more about us.  You can find them on our Duckling Dating profiles and on our Duck Tag necklaces at events.

Green – I am looking for a traditional style of relationship.

Yellow – It’s a bit complicated so let’s talk. I could be looking for a second partner or different type of non-monogomous relationship.

Red – Do me now!  Consent is everything and I am looking for hot, intimate encounters.

Black – I’m kinky.

White – I’m part of the LGBTQ community.
